Thank you for your interest in our shop. Protecting your privacy matters to us. Below we explain what we do with your personal data, why, and what rights you have.

1. Visiting the site – access data and hosting

You can browse our site without telling us who you are. Each time a page is requested our web server automatically records a log entry containing, for example, the file requested, your IP address, the date and time, the amount of data transferred and the requesting provider. We use these access logs only to keep the site running securely and to improve what we offer. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR) in presenting our shop correctly and protecting it from misuse. Access logs are deleted within 30 days.

Hosting and delivery of the website are handled for us by our hosting provider, acting as our processor under a written agreement.

2. Ordering, your account and contacting us

2.1 Processing your order. We collect the personal data you give us when you order – name, delivery and billing address, email, phone number and order details – and use it to take payment, dispatch your goods, invoice you and deal with any return. Required fields are marked as such; without them we cannot process the order. The lawful basis is performance of a contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR). We keep order and invoice records for as long as tax and accounting law requires.

Order management. Orders are processed in an order-management system provided by BaseLinker, which acts as our processor and stores the data within the European Union.

2.2 Customer account. If you open an account, we process the data in it on the basis of your consent (Article 6(1)(a) UK GDPR). You can ask us to delete your account at any time; we then erase the data unless we are legally required to keep it.

2.3 Contacting us. If you write to us by email, WhatsApp, the contact form or call us, we process what you send in order to answer you (Article 6(1)(b) or (f) UK GDPR). We delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed, unless we must keep it by law.

3. Delivery

To get your order to you we pass the necessary delivery details to the courier handling your parcel. The lawful basis is performance of our contract with you (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR).

4. Payments

Payments are handled by payment providers – for example PayPal for PayPal payments, and our card acquirer for card payments. They receive the data needed to take the payment and process it as independent controllers under their own privacy notices. If you pay by bank transfer, your bank processes the transaction. We never see or store your full card details.

5. Cookies and similar technologies

At present our shop uses only cookies that are necessary for it to work – keeping you signed in, remembering your basket, holding your session and storing your cookie choices. These do not require your consent.

If we later add analytics or advertising cookies, we will ask for your consent first and you will be able to withdraw it at any time. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the shop may then stop working.

6. Transfers outside the UK

Some of our providers are based in the European Union. Where personal data is transferred outside the United Kingdom, we rely on the UK’s adequacy regulations for the country concerned or on standard contractual clauses approved for use in the UK, so that your data continues to be protected.

7. Your rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you (right of access);
  • have inaccurate data corrected or incomplete data completed;
  • have your data erased, where we have no legal reason to keep it;
  • ask us to restrict how we use your data;
  • object to processing that we carry out on the basis of legitimate interests;
  • receive data you gave us in a portable format, or have it sent to another controller;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where our processing is based on consent.

To exercise any of these rights, email shop@blucarone.com.

You also have the right to complain to the UK supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner’s Office, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to deal with your concern first.
